Here’s a little secret: gratitude only works when you actually FEEL it. Feeling grateful is so much more powerful than when you just go through the motions and list items you are thankful for (although that’s great, too!)
It’s also like a muscle that gets stronger and easier the more you use it. ❤️ This week we’re going to work on flexing that gratitude muscle... and it’ll only take a few minutes a day. First, find something that you regularly wear or carry with you – like a watch, a piece of jewelry, or an article of clothing. This will be your “gratitude reminder.” Next, take a moment to think about ONE thing that you’re grateful. It can be anything: your home, your family, health, job, pet, car, friends, the fact you have food on the table or anything else that comes to mind. Next, just think about WHY you appreciate it, and instead allow that sense of gratitude to flood over you – really FEEL it. Stamp that feeling into your memory, and start to associate it with your gratitude reminder. As you go about your day, whenever you see your gratitude reminder, take a moment to let that feeling return. Who else is in with me!? What are you using as your gratitude reminder? Take a pic and let us see!
